According to the U.S. Department of Commerce announcement released on January 15, 2026, a 15% import tariff rate has been announced for products exported from Taiwan to the
United States. The announcement further states that “The U.S. Section 232 duties applied to Taiwanese auto parts, timber, lumber, and wood derivative products will total no more than
15 percent.” The actual effective date and applicable rate remain subject to U.S. laws, regulations, and subsequent official notices, and may change with policy adjustments.
For customs and compliance purposes, “Made in Taiwan” is clearly indicated on all relevant shipping documents, including the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, and shipping marks, to support proper country-of-origin declaration and accurate classification under the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
If a Certificate of Origin is required by the importer or customs authorities, it can also be provided upon request as supplementary documentation.
